How many pounds of whole milk does it take to make one pound of cheese? Answer: 10 pounds. One cow will give between 40 and 100 pounds of milk per day (or about 5 to 12 gallons); that's the equivalent of a day's production from a small farm herd (between 8 and 20 cows) to make a single large wheel.
