Recipe: Winter Apple and Pear Crisp
Warm up with this easy one-pot dessert.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

3 green apples
3 ripe pears
¼ cup sugar
1½ Tbs. corn starch
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 Tbs. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
2 Tbs. butter

Topping:
4 Tbs. butter softened
¼ cup sugar
½ cup all purpose flour

Method:

  1. Peel apples and pears. Cut into chunks.
  2. Cook with butter in oven safe baking dish until tender.
  3. Add all other ingredients and mix well.
  4. Cut topping ingredients together until well mixed. Spread over mixture in pan.
  5. Bake uncovered in 400 degree oven for 35 minutes — until brown and bubbly.

Answer:
Figgy pudding is an English dish similar to bread pudding. Made from figs, bread crumbs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and milk, the pudding is baked, then topped with a scrumptious brandied hard sauce, custard icing, powdered sugar, or whipped cream.
