Recipe: Chocolate Chile Brownies
Spice up an evening with your sweetie with these belly-warming brownies.

Ingredients:

4 oz unsweetened chocolate
10 Tbs unsalted butter
1½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup flour
2 tsp hot ground red chile
generous pinch of salt
½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Generously butter and lightly flour 9x13 in. baking pan.
  2. Melt chocolate and butter in a heavy-bottomed pan over low heat. Stir well and let cool a few minutes.
  3. Beat mixture with a wooden spoon until blended. Stir in sugar and mix well.
  4. Beat eggs and vanilla into the batter until well blended.
  5. Stir in flour, ground chile, salt, and walnuts until just mixed.
  6. Pour batter into pan, spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
