Goats, Chickens, Bees and Pie… Oh My!

Sarah & Violet on Teresa Brown's Farm
Sharon and Sarah ventured out of the office yesterday to visit Teresa Brown (Pastry Arts Spring 07 graduate) on her farm in Longmont. We spent some time on the idyllic front porch talking about ideas for the new cheese-making, jamming and pickling classes to be added to our Home Cook schedule this fall. Teresa kindly showed us around her farm (and shared slices of her fabulous blueberry pie!). Primarily used for horse boarding, Teresa also has an exquisite garden with at least ten different varieties of heirloom tomatoes, bee hives, a dozen chickens in her coop, two baby goats (Violet & Henry), and two dogs running around. It was a wonderful afternoon meeting Teresa and planning three new and exciting classes for the fall. Stay tuned for more information on our D.I.Y. Urban Homesteading class offerings!
