Bacon Cupcake Day

What can we say? Never a dull moment around the offices of the Culinary School of the Rockies. Many people think that we get to taste all kinds of different dishes and food combinations. And it’s true. Wednesday was the much anticipated Bacon Cupcake Day.

CSR Pastry Arts graduate Kim Boos, owner of Tee & Cakes on 14th Street in Boulder, baked us a special batch of The Bacon Cupcakes.

Chef Boos used Tee & Cakes’ classic yellow cake and fudge icing recipe and whipped the icing with tasty bacon. Yummy? Definitely. We especially love the bacon crunchies.

Thank you Chef Boos!

Really, I had my reservations . . . but bacon and chocolate make great companions. Have you tried bacon chocolate chip cookies?

Actually, one of our chefs baked maple-glazed bacon chocolate chip cookies (with bacon crunchies on top) for the entire staff right before the holidays last December. Yumilicious!

    Hi,

I was wondering if you had any tips for making cupcakes with bacon that we could share with the readers on our website (internationalbaconday.blogspot.com) for Bacon Day.

    Thanks,
