CSR Dives Into Gluten Free Baking

CSR is starting to explore a new world of cooking and baking: The Gluten Free World. On Sunday June 28th, CSR hosted a new workshop called Simple Gluten Free Baking, taught by Chef Instructor Sarah Blecher. Students in the class created gluten free baked goods such as bagels, quiche, cinnamon rolls and two types of sandwich bread. The class exceeded the expectations of some new gluten free bakers. Most of the students in the class marveled at the fact that a gluten free bagel was even possible. By the end of the class, students chowed down on their gluten free feast and opened their minds to the fact that gluten free food can taste great!

This past Sunday, CSR sent two chefs out to the Colorado Fresh Farmers’ Market in Denver for the first time (hint: we’re sharing a booth with Kaiser Permanente so look for the green tent). Chef Kirby and Chef James were out at the City Park Farmers’ Market making Walla Walla Onion, Heirloom Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella Salad.  Every week our Chefs will pick up a “mystery market basket” from the farmers and be whipping up tasty treats and samples on the fly. Stop by the Cherry Creek Farmer’s Market this Saturday, June 26th for samples made fresh for you by CSR! For more info, check out our Website.

Home Cook Gets Flashy

Home Cook is ready for a freshening up! Sharon, Sarah, Chef Michael Montgomery, and Chef Track grad Adriana Perez prepped, cooked, and styled most of the day on Tuesday photograhping every slice and dice (Chef Michael makes a great hand model!).  Trent Davol, our photographer, did a fabulous job capturing shots that’ll help us update and modernize our website.  Our new and improved photos will be making their debut in coming months!
